8 steps to perfect white rice on the stove

Step 6: After 10 minutes, remove the lid. When most of the water has been absorbed by the rice, so that you can see with a spoon, make a well in the center of the bottom of the pot. If all or most of the water is gone, continue to the next step.
If there is still a quarter inch or more of water, replace the lid and cook for 3-5 minutes.
