Banana Leaves

Definition: Banana leaves are used as a kind of movie in Thai food (instead of aluminum foil) are used. The leaves are not only beautiful, banana, but is also a subtle aroma and taste when eating cooked inside.

Banana leaves can be used for grilling, cooking, eating or steam. While as a packaging material also give a hint of flavor your food, which is nice (as opposed to aluminum foil or baking paper) is!

Banana Leaf also makes a great background on which serve a variety of Asian dishes - excellent for serving food or snacks.

Buy banana leaves:

Banana leaves are cheap to buy - approximately 3.00 to $ 4.00 for a large package. Buy fresh banana leaves or frozen in large, flat plastic bags at your local Asian supermarket (check the freezer if you do not find on the shelf or section of fruits and vegetables).

Banana Leaves Storage:

To get more pages for later use, simply wrap it in plastic (plastic bag secured with elastic), and keep in the freezer.
